Let’s be honest. When most people hear “corporate creativity workshops”, a little part of them departs the building. And fair enough. We’ve all sat through those painful sessions where someone in a starched collar tells you to “think outside the box” while standing next to a PowerPoint that Clippy ( ChatGPT’s grandfather) probably helped them build the night before.
The thing is, creativity workshops can actually transform your team (and future proof your business). But they need the right guide. And they need to be focused on actually being creative, rather than talking in generalities.
So, why would anyone invest in something as nebulous as a “creativity workshop”?

Creativity Is The New Job Security
Ask yourself this. When was the last time your team generated genuinely fresh ideas? If you’re struggling to remember, you’re not alone. But you might be in trouble.
According to the The Future of Jobs Report 2025 from the World Economic Forum, creativity now ranks in the top three skills that workers will need in the future. But most workplaces are creativity wastelands bereft of innovative thinking.
Ironic, isn’t it? The skill that businesses desperately need is being systematically squashed by outdated processes (and new AI tools). Which surely means that most companies are investing heavily in training that boosts creative thinking, right? (Spoiler alert: They’re not)

Creativity comes from within, not from AI
For many, there is a false assumption that AI is going to take up the creative mantle where needed. But that is a fool’s errand. Sure, machines are becoming better at simulating creative processes, but it requires a true original, creative mind to prompt it.
There is also the ongoing issue with AI generated creative content having a kind of sterility to it. It looks and feels like a creative output, but it is ultimately just a remix of old ideas. It feels new but strangely samey. That will likely improve over time of course, but what won’t change is that, a robot can compose music, but it doesn’t understand heartbreak; it can generate art, but it’s never known joy or loss.
The empathy. The humanity. It just isn’t there. And until the Turing test is undeniably passed with flying colours, I’m not sure it truly can be.
The real work is in cultivating a new generation of creative and innovative thinkers
The Best Time To Invest In Creativity Workshops Was Yesterday. And Also Now.
I’m still optimistic. It’s why I teach creativity to organisations around the world, because I believe it is one of the things that will define not just employees in the years to come, but every one of us in everyday life. And there is no better time to prepare.
So, if you’re interested in revitalising the creative thinking in your organisation, then get in touch. I’d love to partner with you to customise a creativity workshop, host a memorable offsite masterclass, craft a leadership session infused with creative thinking, or even facilitate a Lego Serious Play Workshop to solve a current conundrum.
Anything is possible with a little creativity.
